Getting Started

I've been doing a lot of thinking, about kids, family, weight loss, travel, career, really just about life in general. Since they're all interconnected I thought it was about time that I start making a change for the better, and since the biggest problem with everything right now seems to be my weight I figured there was no better place to start.

So, this is it, this is my year. I AM GOING TO LOOSE WEIGHT!! I am done being the fat wife with the thin husband. I am done being the fat mom, who can't do half the things with her daughter that she wants. I'm done having problems getting pregnant. I'm done be exhausted all the time, and having my back always hurt. I'm done dreading the day 16 weeks from now when I graduate from school and I have to spend the day on my feet, knowing that if I don't loose weight now it will be VERY uncomfortable.

I'm ready! I'm ready to get dressed up and go out for a night on the town with my fabulous husband, a night where we both get dressed up, and my outfit was purchased from a regular store, in the regular women's department. I'm ready to wear a swimsuit and not wonder what kind of giant piece of fruit it makes me look like. I'm ready to do summer salts and kart wheels with my daughter. I'm ready to be pregnant and have the cutest darn baby bump anyone has ever seen! I'm ready to look and feel great! I'm ready for my physical appearance to match my fun attitude and personality!!!

Dan and I really want to expand our family. We've thought long and hard, and the one thing we feel is missing is another child. We have the house, the 2 cars, the 2 dogs and a cat, but we don't have that 2.2 babies, we only have 1, and it's time for another one!! I can't say for sure that my weight is what is preventing us from conceiving, but I sure know that it probably isn't helping things. At any rate I'm making that my first goal, getting down to what I was after Katie so that I can have another healthy pregnancy.

A few years back I ordered Michael Thurmond's 6 week Body Makeover program, and I did it for a while, with pretty good success, but I wasn't' 100% focused. I pulled it all back out today and looked over everything. Somewhere down the line one piece of it had gotten damaged, so I called Provida and spent $14 that we don't necessarily have right now to order a replacement. It will take a while to get here, but I'm still going to start the program while I'm waiting for it as I can still discern part of the information, but long term I'll need the rest of it, so it will be good to have.

I'm going to spend the next few days making a grocery list and a menu. For now I will cook food for me and meals for Dan and Katie, but eventually I will switch us all to eating the same foods, with rare exceptions when they are craving something that I make frequently now.

I'm going to try to post once a week, with my weight loss for the week before.
